Feeding Your Cat

We aim to feed all of the cats in our care a good quality diet – Origen dry food (see below), Carny wet food and plenty of water (no milk as many cats are lactose intolerant).

With cat food you normally get what you pay for. If you examine food labels on tins, pouches and bags you will find that most of the products contain a low amount of meats and a high amount of fillers – normally rice or cereal products.

As we deal with so many cats we have been refining what we select and we have been so pleased with the Orijen Kibble that we are now stocking this product.

ORIJEN’s Biologically Appropriate concept is simple: include the fresh, whole foods that nature intended cats and dogs to eat, and exclude ingredients like cereal grains that your dog or cat is not evolved to eat. High-protein, low-carbohydrate and Grain-FREE, ORIJEN diets feature farm-fresh ingredients in a Biologically Appropriate ratio of 70 percent meat, 30 percent fruit and vegetables, and zero grain (70/30/0). Made with a diversity of fresh (but never frozen) meats – including free-range chicken and turkey, fresh whole eggs and wild-caught regional fish; ORIJEN’s grain-free recipes match the evolutionary diets of dogs and cats and promote their peak physical well-being.

Biologically Appropriate diets have several key differences that fundamentally seperate them from regular commercial pet foods:

-High Protein from Fresh Meats
-Grain Free
-Low Carbohydrate
-Regional Fruits and Vegetables
-Health Promoting Botanicals

The products are available for purchase in a variety of bag sizes – the Trial Size bag of 400g, 2.5Kg and 7.0Kg.
